Sony may be getting into the tablet business. Japanese newspaper Nikkei is reporting that the company will be launching a Honeycomb tablet by the end of the year, and that the tablet will be released in the US first, before heading overseas. Information about the tablet reportedly came from Sony CEO, Howard Stringer himself.

We heard rumors that Sony was working on an Android tablet in Feb. of this year. The S1 tablet, which was outed by Engadget, would supposedly have an open-book design for easy holding, Tegra 2 processor, front- and rear-facing cameras, and a USB-A port. At the time of the rumor, the tablet was thought to be shipping in September, which would make it an ideal candidate for the tab Sony is supposedly talking about now.

What do you think about the possibility of a Sony tablet? What would you like to see in one? Would you buy one?
